Soluna Cafe & Lounge is a chic-casual San Francisco restaurant and lounge which graces the city’s stately Civic Center night and day with fine lunch, brunch, dinner and drinks.  Owned and operated by The Industry Group, the managing team offers a variety of expertise to successfully provide a 360-degree approach to quality service.  With creative food, inventive drinks, and a knowledgeable staff, the team\'s combined talents allow for a superior experience that extends beyond the plate.

Francis Hogan - Chef
Chef Hogan began his career in Philadelphia where he earned his culinary degree while mastering classic European technique.  Eager to expand his talents beyond the kitchen, he graduated from Drexel University with a degree in hospitality management.  To further his culinary experience, he studied in London and traveled through Europe learning from the masters of culinary arts. Upon returning home, Hogan opened his first bistro in South Philadelphia, a pioneer gastropub called 1601. Excited by a more pressing challenge, Hogan decided to relocate to the West Coast and accept the chef position at Ibiza, Seattle’s popular Spanish restaurant in Pioneer Square. As Ibiza’s success grew, so did Hogan’s reputation - he appeared as a celebrity chef on Comcast cooking show The Bite Cooks, and on Northwest Afternoon, KOMO 4’s popular live daily talk show. Attracted to the San Francisco spirit and its unparalleled restaurant scene, Chef Hogan moved to the Bay Area and brought his talent to popular fine dining hotspots Farallon and Two. He also taught aspiring chefs at the San Francisco Art Institute. Bringing his mastery of California cuisine to Soluna, Chef Hogan has invigorated the menu with fresh, seasonal ingredients and his innovative, well-crafted dishes.

Rene Denis - Managing Partner
From cooking to bartending to successfully managing a classic San Francisco establishment, Mr. Denis is a seasoned veteran with experience in all facets of the restaurant industry. As the previous general manager of Biscuits & Blues, the Bay Area\'s #1 blues club and restaurant, Mr. Denis understands and successfully provides an all-encompassing quality experience, from food and drink to great service. Mr. Denis has a fine arts education from the University of Maryland, the School of Visual Arts, and the Academy of Art College. He is also an active graphic designer.

Ed Ivey - Event Planner & Booking Agent
Mr. Ivey graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in journalism. His writing credits include notable publications including the El Paso Times, Onstage Magazine, and Blues Revue. Mr. Ivey is also a professional musician and founding member of Texas indie band Rhythm Pigs, a pioneer group that recorded five albums and toured all over the world.

Combining his interests in music and event production, Mr. Ivey previously worked with Mr. Denis as the booking agent for Biscuits & Blues, where he presented popular and emerging blues artists. In addition to being a partner in The Industry Group, he also produces large events through his San Francisco agency, Bay Area Booking.

Matthew Norris - Bar Manager
Mr. Norris is a talented bartender and innovative mixologist with over 10 years of experience in the industry. With an extensive knowledge of wine and house liquor infusions, he offers perfect wine pairings and crafts creative cocktails. He previously worked as bar manager of popular San Francisco restaurants Catch and Garibaldi\'s. Mr. Norris has a fine arts background and is an active member of San Francisco\'s artist community. His large scale paintings are often shown at Soluna.

One word, The Reuben! Had one for lunch during the week & I must say it was delicious, add that to the great service I was given by the very apt bar tender slash waiter means I will be back.

I go here about twice a month. Its very reasonably priced & the food is consistently very good. Drinks are a little pricey but then again for the type of place & service even that ain't bad.
Bar tenders certainly know their stuff & their cocktail menu is good.
You get allot of Law students & City Hall types here along with regular folk like me so its a nice mix.
I will be coming back here...

Located by the Asian Art Museum adjacent to City Hall, I must say I have eaten most items on the menu here.
First off I have to say I know the Bar & Kitchen Staff very well as do I know the Management & owners so a little biased I could be.
From My favorites like Steamed Savoury Clams or the original take on their Mac & Cheese up to the main Dishes I don't think you can go wrong in this place. EXECUTIVE CHEF Francis Hogan makes use of a seasonal menu on some of his designs & he keeps my taste buds dancing when he merits it's time for a new item to menu.
They have a full bar & accept credit cards.
I would suggest that anyone making their way here try the Cocktail list or the wines which are specifically created or chosen to compliment the food.
Overall anyone venturing here will have a great experience without hurting your pocketbook.
